But Diets DO NOT WORK!  They are a short term solutions to a long term need.  The way to change your mindset is to start thinking in terms of “Life style” choices and changes.  When you have this mindset and know this is a life long journey to eating and feeling well you already have half the battle won!

Here are 3 key factors that could be sabotaging your weight loss:

  1. Contrary to popular belief, you may not be eating enough. I know, shocking right?  When we do not eat enough calories to keep up with the demand of our body, the body will automatically feel as if it is starving and therefore refuse to let go of the extra fat!
  2. You have the idea that you are “On a Diet”! Instead of permanently changing your lifestyle. When you have a short term, quick fix in mind for losing weight it is much harder to maintain your results.
  3. You haven’t established a good support system. You can have the best of intentions but when you go it alone you will be much less likely to succeed.  It can be tough when those around you do not support your new lifestyle changes. If your partner, family or friends are not willing to participate or at least be supportive you can easily revert back to old ways of eating.
