Happy 2016!  It is a new year with a new slate to remind us that we can start again.   I did well through the Christmas season and was the strongest I had been in years.  But then I overdid it and went into flare and was hit with a whammy of a sinus infection on top of that.

Not the way I would choose to start the New Year, but I have learned to go with the flow and turn to the Word for encouragement.  When we are forced to slow down it is a test of our faith in trust.  “Be still and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10 NIV is a great scripture for the times when we must rest.

I am on track to wellness again and just like the New Year, each day brings about opportunity to start again.  Most make New Year’s resolutions the first of January but did you know that resolutions don’t work?  Statistics show that by February, 80% of those who made them, give them up.

What does work is using the date as a reminder to reflect and look at what changes you would like to make in your life.  And then make a commitment to a life style change.  Then take small action steps toward the new behavior every day until it becomes a habit.

Life is not easy.  It presents challenges regularly.  But the best thing you can do to make positive change is to work on your mindset.  That way, no matter what gets in your way, you will reach those goals!

Ask yourself what is important to you?  Are you achieving the things that bring you peace, joy, emotional and physical wellness, spiritual growth, fulfillment?  Then take action.  This will lead you to the success you desire!   Wishing you a very blessed, happy, fulfilling and rewarding new year!
